Dog lovers in Wantirna will have more space to enjoy the outdoors with their pets, with a new dog park at Wantirna Reserve.

A re-elected Andrews Labor Government will invest $490,000 to deliver a new dog park and upgrade the existing playground.

Victorians love their pets, and we know dog lovers need green open spaces for exercise and play.

That’s why the Andrews Labor Government has funded 31 new dog parks across Victoria – ensuring every family has access to the facilities they need.

We’ve delivered off-leash parks with fencing, seating, drinking fountains and agility equipment for dog lovers and their pets to enjoy their time outdoors.

And we’ve created more parkland across our state so that more families can relax and enjoy green open space together.

Labor understands that pets are more than just animals – they’re family. That’s why we’ve stood up for animal welfare by banning puppy farms and introducing the strictest breeding rules in the country.

We made it easier for renters to have pets, enshrining their rights in legislation.

We’ve supported the organisations that care for pets and wildlife, with funding for not-for-profit vet clinics and pet rehoming services.

We’ve supported victims of family violence by making sure their pets are looked after in times of crisis.

And we’re delivering the first-ever Pet Census to collect better information and statistics on pet ownership that can inform decision-making.

Only Labor will deliver a new dog park for families in Wantirna.
